The beginning of wisdom is this:
and whatever else you get, get insight.
Steven Pinker, a Harvard psychologist writing an op-ed about higher education in September 2014, made a fascinating confession about the elite institution he calls home: “I have no idea how to get my students to build a self or become a soul.” This rings true for many of our institutions, and for our cultural moment as a whole: we have access to more information than ever before, but struggle to learn how to live well - how to grow into sane selves and flourishing souls. Join us for Wisdom 101, in which we’ll listen to the Wisdom books of Scripture - Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs - teach us how Jesus leads us into flourishing, whole lives.
